Dylan plays Zu Coffee

Beamish Boy played at Zu Coffee to a modest but devoted audience, approximately 25-30 people. The window held a sign that announced that Darrell Bargteil was playing. I think someone saved the sign.

As I was getting ready to leave, the owner came over and apologized about the sign and added, "Your son Darrin is very talented." Seems Dylan's first gig suffered from an identity crisis!

My friend and poet, Steve, met me there and was moved by the poetry of the lyrics, as well as the virtuosity of the guitar playing. Sara and her army were there. Most of all, Dylan was there, self-possessed and happy; so happy. This is all we hope for or dream; that our children will find their joy, their rapture.
