Finally I have a solid position with a wonderful company; since I've been there over six months, I am hopeful they will let me stay.
My children are well, happy, prospering, and staying in touch.
The dog is healthy and still well-behaved.
My romantic life has had some stability for over twelve months now (thanks to a solid, responsible fellow who helps keep things level).
But life has been marching over my back for several years and the financial collateral damage and the lack of medical attention certainly took a toll. The finances will resolve as I continue working the full-time job and teaching three courses a semester.
Now it is time to start again. I have a decision to make; follow traditional medicine where medication carries the burden or choose functional medicine of diet, exercise, natural supplements?
Traditional medicine reminds me of my mother's catastrophic massive stroke at only 59 years of age. Traditional medicine prescribes statins. Traditional medicine does not want to test for hormone levels or discuss alternatives.
What are my choices; raw food diet? Supplements? Vegan? Strict diet and exercise?
Or there is my choice of the past four years: head firmly planted in the sand while my feathers are plucked and my eggs are stolen.
Okay, time to wake up. This has been quite the slumber. I do not know how I will do it without your support and encouragement. It is not so monumental and yet it seems so at this particular moment.
Substantial change is required. I have become a creature of habits. Strong self-discipline is needed. I have become a sloth in this regard. So, please, ask me to take a bike ride and a walk. Offer tea, seltzer water, and hugs. Tell me I can when I am most convinced that I cannot. It will be a "good" thing -- lifting together.
