Matter

What does it matter how
I say it? I speak. Or I
dance, or send a single note
into the air, an English horn
haunting the caverns. What
does that matter, how it
happens?

There are pyramids in
Egypt, and Scrolls in the
desert, and slips of paper
left in the silk panties of
Victoria Secret stores.
I speak.

There are sculptures
entwined and bull fights;
I make a beautiful flower
bed of iris, orchids, wild
flowers;
I speak.

When I hesitate or I act; when
I notice the gait and the cut
of another's shoulder just like
your own; when I pull the pillows
to my back.

What does it matter?
