Misleading

For days the air has been heavy with the promise of rain storms; the air thick and dense, flashes splitting the sky, rumbles of thunder from the horizon. Twenty minutes ago, the wind blew through the trees out front, all the leaves surrendering, turning over. And I thought, "Ah, now it will rain." But it didn't. That is how misleading the wind can be.
